Introducing the new
– Leather Pen, Precision Marker exclusively from Fantastak
Leather pen has been developed to supercede less accurate and
slower methods of marking which are less reliable and hard to remove,
such as crayons and marker tape. Leather Pen is already used by
the Automotive, Aircraft and Furniture manufacturing industries
improving yields and speed of production.
Fantastak Ltd have developed the Leather Pen Precision Marker for
primarily marking flaws on leather hides prior to cutting on automated
Leather Systems so that the leather can be utilised for the best
yields and identification. Leather Pen is also suitable for many
other uses such as batch numbering or for marking up hides with
customer reference data. In most cases Leather Pen can be removed
by simply wiping with a dry soft cloth leaving no trace of a mark
or staining. The ink should only be wiped off after it has fully
dried. We always recommend that the customer tests the different
colours for suitability as Fantastak does not accept responsibility
for staining or damage caused by mis-use.
For marking flaws we have found that it is important to test all
four colours to all hide colours to determine which one is the most
suitable for the different flaw levels and for ease of removing
without staining after use. We offer a free testing service via
our laboratory for all testing of pen colours to hides, creating
a simple matrix for end users to follow.
The pens are available in 4 standard colours: Brown, Blue, White
and Green.
Bespoke colours can be made to suit specific requirements, minimum
quantities will apply.
Use Fantastak's new Leather Wipes for cleaning or removing any residue
left by the pen. They can also be used for final detailing, but
always test for suitability. We recommend that they are not used
on shiny or polished leather as they may remove the shine leaving
a matt/semi matt finish.
